Caps Fall to Wolverines
Wakefield jumped out to an early 4-0 lead on a beautiful day at Wiley Warren Field before Broughton battled back to tie the score at 5 after 6 complete.  Unfortunately, the Wolverines scored late to come out on top 9-5.

In the 1st, Will Baldwin (Sr. P) beat out a high bouncer for an infield single.  Mathis Dean (Soph. 1B) smoked a single to deep left center but the Caps were unable to score.  Broughton scored its first run in the 2nd: Thomas Walden (Sr. RF) walked, Penn Sealey (FR. SS/C) reached on an error before fellow freshman catcher Robert Ramseur delivered an RBI single to score Walden.  In the Broughton 3rd, Kyle Ehlers (Soph. 3B) doubled to right center but was stranded.  Baldwin put down the Wolverines in order in the 4th on 5 pitches.  In the Broughton half of 4th, Eli DeJesus (Sr. 2B) ripped a single up the middle, Walden followed with a sharp double to right center, Sealey walked, Baldwin delivered an RBI single to score Walden, then Warren Grady (Jr. CF) ripped an RBI single to plate Sealey making it 5-3.

After a scoreless 5th for the Wolverines, Ehlers singled, Dylan Lamm (Sr. LF) laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt to move the runner over, DeJesus singled to put runners on the corner, Walden bunted and was able to reach on a throwing error as Ehlers and DeJesus scored to knot the game at 5.  The Wolverines went down in order in the 6th.  Grady had a nice double in the bottom of the 6th but was left on base, leaving the score tied heading into the 7th.  The Wolverines were able to score four runs off a couple of Broughton pitchers to secure the 9-5 win.
