Caps Back in Win Column
Broughton defeated Enloe 5-1 behind a strong pitching performance by Senior ace Thomas Walden and some timely hits.  Walden threw a complete game 4-hitter with a season high 11 strikeouts.

In the Caps 1st, Warren Grady (Jr. CF) smoked the ball over the center fielder’s head for a triple and scored on Mathis Dean’s (Soph. 1B) RBI sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.  Walden struck out two Eagles in an efficient eight pitch 3rd.  In the Broughton half of the 3rd, Robert Ramseur (Fr. C) reached on an error and pinch runner Harrison Hemric (Soph.) stole second but was left stranded.  The Caps got it going in the 5th: Penn Sealey (Fr. 2B) reached on an error, Ramseur singled, Will Baldwin (Sr. SS) was hit by a pitch, Grady walked to force in Sealey, then Dean delivered the big hit, a three run double down the third base line scoring Hemric, Baldwin and Grady.  Ehlers followed with a single but was left on base.  Walden shut down the Eagles in order in the 6th and in the bottom half of the inning, Ramseur collected his second hit of the day and Baldwin followed with a single but were unable to score.
