Caps battle rain and visiting Wake Forest Rolesville Defeating both for a 14-3 WIN in 5 innings

The rain threw the Caps a curve right out of the gate delaying the start and decided to return in the 2nd but the Caps were not going to be denied the opportunity to take full advantage of an excellent 6 run first inning start to beat WFR and regain sole possession of 3rd place. Lead-off batter, So. Joe Bialkowski, get’s things started with a walk, steals second and moves over to third on So. Wilson Whites single. Sr. Brandon Saunders pushes the first run across the plate with a ground out to second. Sr. Payne Eller drops in a RBI single scoring White. Sr. Tanner scores another and hot hitting Sr. Josh Clark knocks in Eller with a single. Another walk to Sr. Kevin Partin loads the bases which are cleared on So. Max Magallanes’s 3 RBI double. Magallanes was thrown out at home on Bialkowski’s single to left to end the 6 run first. Starting winning pitcher, So. Wilson White shuts down the WFR hitters holding them scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd. The Caps pick up another run in the bottom of the third off Sr. Tanner Parker’s solo homer over the left field fence for a 7-2 lead. WFR mounts a threat in the 4th loading the bases but White picks up 2 of his 3 strikeouts stranding 3. The Caps explode in the bottom of the 4th picking up 7. Jr. Will Cooper and Sr. Saunders lead-off with singles and Sr. Eller picks up his 2nd RBI of the day. Sr. Clark picks up an infield ground out RBI and Sr. Partin strokes a deep right center double for two more runs. A couple more walks and Jr. Will Coopers second RBI single combines for 3 more runs ending the 7 run 4th to take a 14-2 lead into the 5th. WFR picks up three consecutive singles to lead off the 5th loading the bases off starting pitcher So. Wilson White. So. Joe Bialkowski got the call with no outs and bases loaded to shut down the threat and preserve the excellent job So. White delivered. So. Lefty Bialkowski is again up to the task trading a fly ball out for a run and shuts them down the rest of the inning with a strikeout and a game ending grounder to second for a 14-3 final.

Winning pitcher, So. Wilson White strong effort took him into the 5th surrendering 3 runs off 6 hits, 4 walks and 2 errors. So. Joe Bialkowski picked up the save in convincing fashion surrendering no runs on no hits with 1 strikeout while stranding three.
