Wilson White played with purpose throwing 4 great innings and going 2-3 with a big HR in the 4th. Maclin Batchelor also had a solid day going 2-3 with the other RBI. The Caps are still searching for the key to bring it all together. They will continue the search next week, stay tuned.

Caps have lead through the 5th and then the wheels fall off
Game Photos Click Here
The Caps played 5 great innings carrying a 4-2 lead into the 6th. Then Millbrook scored 10 runs in 2 innings as the Caps were held scoreless for a final score of 12-4. Joe Bialkowski showed great poise on the mound and Garret Willamson had a great game behind the plate but it was not enough to overcome the late inning troubles. The Caps have been outscored 23-0 in the final 3 innings this year. This disturbing trend has hindered a talented team too long. The ability is certainly there but the leadership has not emerged from the young squad. If the Caps have any hope to turn this year around it is time for the players to step up and be accountable.

It was a perfect day for baseball, 64 degrees with the sun shining. The Wiley Warren field looks great, and the smell of the popcorn coming from the freshly painted concession stand made us feel like we were at the DBAP.
The Caps and the Trojans squared off in what looked to be a pitchers dual, both teams were scoreless through 3. Garner found the bat rack in the 4th, as the Caps defense struggled, Garner scored 3. Broughton retaliated in the bottom half with a solo blast by Ben Eller. Garner continued getting the bat on the ball in the 5th, nothing strong, but 5 runs scored.
