Seniors Josh Clark, Payne Eller, Charlie Goode, Pierce Jensen, Tanner Parker, Kevin Partin, Brandon Saunders and David Wyche started and finished the game determined to get it done and for the first 3 innings did not disappoint. Losing pitcher, Sr. Brandon Saunders, pitched his 4th complete game of the season but gave up a solo HR in the second to fall down 1-0. The Caps push a run across in the bottom of the second to tie it up. The Caps rough up Wakefield ace, Ravi Patel, for 5 runs in the bottom of the third to take a 6-1 lead after 3. Wakefield answered for 4 runs in the top of the 4th to make a game of it. The Caps get the first batter on base in the bottom of the 4th and Wakefield called on Evan Brabrand to replace Patel on the mound who promptly shut down the Caps the rest of the game. Saunders comes back strong in the 5th holding the wolverines scoreless but the Caps surrender 2 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th to lose the game.
