Sr. Brandon Saunders got the home start, giving up a two run homer in the top of the first, settled down and pitched 3 solid innings. Soph. Wilson White came in long relief and pitched 4 scoreless innings to pick up the win. BHS got another strong defensive effort with no errors.
Offensively the Caps only got four hits, but made everyone count. Saunders had an RBI single in the first then in the fourth we opened it up. Sr. Josh Clark had a RBI walk and then Jr. Will Cooper hit a grand slam on the first pitch he saw after a pitching change.
The Caps scored their last run on a error, balk, steal of 3rd by Jr. Ziquine Hopkins who scored when the throw from the catcher went off the 3rd baseman’s glove.
BHS will play today versus West Johnston at Wiley Warren Field at 4. Sr. Charlie Goode will be starting on the mound.
