The tournament will serve as a gathering of friends, family and the Broughton community to honor the memory of Trey.  The transition of the proceeds going to a scholarship in Trey’s honor and to benefit the Broughton High School general baseball fund has gone extremely well.  With your generosity, we have given scholarships to very deserving young men the past two years.  We continue to strive to support the needs of the baseball program and the young men who carry on the tradition of Broughton baseball.

Please feel free to pass this along to friends and family that may be interested in playing.

Broughton JV Defeats Sanderson 4-3, to Close their Winning Season

Noah Yarborough pitched a solid game for The Caps today, completing all 7 innings, while keeping the Spartans at bay. This was an exciting game to watch. The Caps won as a team, with only one error on defense.
In the first inning Broughton was held scoreless by good Spartan pitching. It was Sanderson’s turn at the plate, and they scored a run off one hit. The Caps had a nice double play to close the inning. Spartans 1, Caps 0
The next 2 innings were scoreless for both teams as both pitchers were controlling the bats. Yarborough had 2 Ks in the 3rd.
The 4thinning was exciting. Baldwin and Collins led off for Broughton with nice hits, and seemed to rattle the Spartan pitcher. Morris pushed one enough to get Eller home. Robinson came in to run for Caps catcher Morris, and made it home on a steal and a couple of Spartan errors. The Spartans retaliated with a run, but The Caps stayed focused and closed the inning. Caps 2, Spartans 2
The 5thinning was 3 up, 3 down for both teams, with nice defense from Broughton.
In the 6th, Baldwin led off another inning with a hit, and Eller drove him in with an RBI double. Morris followed with his second RBI. The Spartans drove in another run, and the Broughton D held. Caps 4, Spartans 3
Broughton had men in scoring position in the 7th, but came up short. Yarborough had battled well through the game, and this inning was no exception. With a K from Yarborough and 2 in-field plays later, it was game over.
Broughton 4, Sanderson 3

Yarborough 5 Ks; Morris 2-3, 2 RBI; Baldwin 2-3, 1 BB; Collins 1-2, 1 BB; Eller 1 RBI
