Broughton continues their fast start with 7-5 win over Garner. The Caps improve their record to 2-0 and are ready to take on East Wake this Wed.
Will Cooper (1-0) started the game strong pitching 4 scoreless innings and earning the win. Things got a little dicey in the 5th with the score 7-3 and the bases loaded the Coach Moore called on Jr. Pierce Jensen to get the final out. In spectacular fashion Pierce got the strike out and retired the side. Sr. Cameron Gombatz then closed the door for the second game in a row an earned the save.
Hitting was the story of the day for the Caps with Sr. Thomas Butler hitting a 3 run HR in the 2nd inning and Gombatz coming up big with a 2 run double in the 4th.
Broughton faces East Wake on Wed March 10th 4:00pm at Wiley Warren Field (BHS). The Caps split with the Warriors last year. See you at the park
